Hitchhiking through half of Europe, the escape of a Puma and a few other absurd stories lead us eventually to the year 2001, when a band was formed. A band, named after a little town, where some of its story took place. GROOMBRIDGE.
After an EP (2004), two albums (2007 and 2010), a 7-month caravan tour through Europe (2008/09) and a short Tour in China (2011), GROOMBRIDGE set out to write their 3rd album.
Over a period of three years the band was busy producing their album “Customers From Hell” – with every little detail specifically planned and precisely executed. The same excellence was going to be invested into their next project - so the songwriting began.
The same old story… Slowly but surely, the inspiration started to fade away. One day, the bands computer decided to take on that problem, and a clear and unmistakable message appeared on the screen: PANIC! We are hanging here! Unintentionally, and without starting up its whole operating system, the band was shown what they had disregarded. After a 10-year band history, routine held all the strings in its hand. With this revelation in mind GROOMBRIDGE set off to change the good old structures, find new inspiration, and new ways of songwriting. The result: an album with multiple facets. An album that is all about overcoming indispensable circumstances, yet without presenting any universal truths. An honest self-examination: Panic! We are hanging here!

Per Anhalter durch halb Europa, die Flucht vor einem Puma und ein paar andere abstruse Geschichten führten schlussendlich dazu, dass 2001 eine Band gegründet wurde. Eine Band, benannt nach dem Dorf, wo sich ein Teil dieser Story zugetragen hatte. GROOMBRIDGE.
Nach einer EP (2004), zwei Alben (2007+2010), einer 7-monatigen Wohnwagen-Tour durch Europa (2008/09) und einer kurzen Tour durch China (2011) hat sich GROOMBRIDGE aufgemacht, ein drittes Album zu schreiben.
Über drei Jahre verbrachte die Band mit der Produktion des Werks „Customers From Hell“ und achtete dabei auf jedes Detail. Dasselbe plante man auch beim Nachfolger und begann, neue Songs aufzunehmen.
The same old story, bei der die Inspiration langsam aber sicher auf der Strecke blieb. Diesem Problem nahm sich eines Tages der Bandcomputer an. Aus dem Standby erwacht, stand auf seinem Display eine unmissverständliche Nachricht: PANIC! We are hanging here! Ohne die geringste Absicht, auch nur einen Bruchteil seines Betriebssystems zu starten, führte der Computer seiner Band vor Augen, was diese unbeachtet liess: Die Routine hielt nach 10 Jahren Bandgeschichte alle Fäden in der Hand. Das Problem vor Augen machte sich GROOMBRIDGE daran, altbewährte Strukturen zu ändern, neue Inspiration zu suchen und andere Arten des Songwritings zu finden. Das Resultat ist ein Album mit vielen Facetten. Eines, das sich um die Überwindung von unumgänglichen Situationen dreht, ohne pauschale Wahrheiten zu präsentieren. Eine ehrliche Auseinandersetzung mit sich selbst: Panic! We are hanging here!
